Your files
Section titled “Your files”VolumeForge processes designs, imported files, and textures in your browser. Local models are not automatically uploaded. You can use it without an account and download local files. Invited development accounts can explicitly save private cloud projects on dev.volumeforge.com.
Download a .vlfg file to keep your work. Unsaved work can be lost when the tab closes or reloads. Downloaded files are stored on your device.
Development accounts and cloud projects
Section titled “Development accounts and cloud projects”Signing in stores your profile name, email, email-verification status and login-provider connection in the development Cloudflare D1 database. Session cookies let the API recognise your signed-in browser. Google sign-in sends you to Google; account verification, sign-in links and password recovery use Resend email delivery.
Choosing a cloud save uploads a .vlfg package to private Cloudflare R2 storage. The package can contain the model, imported source geometry, textures, workspace settings and undo history. D1 stores project names, ownership, revisions and upload metadata. Other ordinary accounts cannot access your projects through the API.
Choosing cloud storage enables automatic saves of subsequent committed edits. Existing/manual revisions are retained; superseded automatic snapshots are trimmed to keep the current head and up to two older automatic revisions. the development interface does not yet provide account deletion, project trash management or revision pruning. Abandoned uncommitted uploads expire after an hour and are cleaned up by a scheduled job. Keep local downloads as an independent copy while this feature is in development.
The editor saves working recovery drafts in IndexedDB after changes, including for models kept on this device. Before opening another project, it also keeps a separate local recovery checkpoint. This checkpoint stays in the browser and is not itself an automatic cloud upload. See cookies and browser storage for details.
Website requests
Section titled “Website requests”Loading the website sends technical information, such as your IP address and browser request headers, to the hosting infrastructure. VolumeForge uses Cloudflare to deliver the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its practices.
External materials
Section titled “External materials”Browsing materials loads preview images from ambientCG and Poly Haven. Adding a material downloads texture files from their infrastructure. These requests share connection information with the provider; they do not include your design geometry.
You can use the editor without browsing these materials, or import your own textures locally. External websites and services have their own policies. See ambientCG and Poly Haven’s privacy policy.
Browser storage
Section titled “Browser storage”The website stores interface preferences in your browser. See cookies and browser storage for details and how to clear them.
