Combine solids with Boolean operations

Boolean operations combine exact solid bodies. Make sure the operand bodies overlap or touch as needed for the operation, then choose Boolean from the tool rail.

  1. Choose Union, Subtract, or Intersect in the Boolean panel.
  2. Select at least two solid bodies in the viewport. The panel lists the selected bodies; you can also remove a body from that list.
  3. For Subtract, choose the Subtract from body. Other selected bodies are the tools removed from it.
  4. Inspect the exact preview. When the status reports a valid preview, press Enter to apply the operation. Press Escape to leave without applying it.

Union joins the selected solids into one result where the geometry permits. Subtract removes the tool bodies from the chosen base. Intersect keeps only the shared volume. The resulting feature appears in the model tree, and its input bodies are hidden. Use visibility controls in the model tree to inspect the inputs and result.

If the preview fails, check that at least two ready solid bodies are selected, that the chosen base is correct for subtraction, and that the solids produce a valid result. See Troubleshooting for common operation problems.
