Parameters and units

Change units

Open Settings from the top bar and choose the length unit you want to work in. The menu offers millimetres, centimetres, metres, inches, and feet. Grid spacing has its own value and unit; enable Snap to grid if you want points to follow it.

Create a named parameter

1. Open Model tree and switch to the Parameters tab.
2. Enter a name such as width and an expression or value such as 40.
3. Use that name in a supported dimension field, such as an extrusion distance.

Parameter names start with a letter or underscore and may then contain letters, numbers, and underscores. When a parameter changes, expressions that refer to it are reevaluated. Use names that describe the design rather than one-off numbers.
