Place points while sketching
Points are created as part of sketch geometry. To place line endpoints, choose Draw line and click in the viewport; each click adds a point to the connected line chain. Arcs and curves also create points as you place their defining locations. The active drawing plane and cursor determine each point’s position.
Snap to existing geometry
Section titled “Snap to existing geometry”As you move the pointer, snap cues may appear when the point can align with existing geometry. To place points at regular intervals, open Settings, turn on Snap to grid, and set the grid spacing and unit.
If the point lands on an unexpected plane or reference, orbit to a clearer view or select a face to establish a useful plane. Use the Measure line tool to check distances between placed points.
For connected segments and polygons, see Draw lines and polygons. To constrain sketch geometry, enter Sketch Edit and apply an available relation.
