Workspace and navigation
The viewport occupies most of the editor. The tool rail sits on the left, file and settings controls are at the top, and the view controls sit near the viewport edge.
Move around the model
Section titled “Move around the model”| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Orbit | Drag with the left mouse button while navigating or using Select |
| Pan | Drag with the right mouse button |
| Zoom | Scroll the mouse wheel |
| Fit everything into view | Use Fit all in the view controls |
| Choose a standard view | Click a face, edge, or corner of the navigation cube |
| Switch perspective or orthographic view | Press P or use the projection control |
An active drawing or modeling tool changes what a click or drag does. Press Escape to cancel an unfinished action, then choose Select (1) to inspect the model.
Find tools and model information
Section titled “Find tools and model information”Choose a tool from the left rail. Hover over an icon to see its name. Open Model tree from the top bar to inspect bodies, operations, and parameters. Select a body or feature there when it is difficult to pick in the viewport.
Use Settings to change the theme and length units, show or hide the grid, adjust grid spacing, and enable grid snapping. Dimensions use the selected length unit. Grid spacing has its own value and unit.
In Select, open the selection options to limit picks to faces, edges, vertices, or whole bodies. The model tree is useful when geometry overlaps or is difficult to pick in the viewport.
