Troubleshooting

Check that the boundary is closed, its edges meet at their endpoints, and the points lie on one plane. Try Create face (F) after selecting the boundary. See the face guide.

Read the instruction and status in the active tool panel; it reports which point or boundary is still needed. A curve draft can be canceled with Escape. A planar face boundary must be closed and connected, and a planar method requires coplanar curves. For nonplanar surfaces, try Automatic, Smooth patch, or Ruled when the selected boundary supports it. See Draw curves and Create a face.

Choose an editable sketch in the sketch picker, then select compatible geometry. Each constraint accepts particular selections, so the available actions change as you select points, lines, and curves. If the solver reports a conflict, remove or edit the conflicting relation, or adjust the dimension. See the sketch constraints guide.

Extrude needs a suitable face or body selection. A set of unclosed lines is not an extrudable profile. Select the planar face, enter a nonzero distance, and wait for the preview to validate. See the extrusion guide.

Check the active tool’s status message and confirm that the right type of geometry is selected. Extrude needs a face or supported body; Revolve needs a valid profile and axis; Boolean needs at least two ready solid bodies. Try a simpler profile or a smaller fillet/chamfer value if the exact operation fails. See Boolean solids and Fillet and chamfer.

Use Fit all beside the navigation cube. Check the model tree for hidden bodies, and choose a standard view on the cube if the model is edge-on. Press Escape to leave an unfinished tool before selecting or navigating.

Check that the file is a VolumeForge .vlfg design file, then try opening another saved copy if you have one. Learn about files.

For STEP import, check that the file is a valid .step or .stp file and review any unit or healing diagnostic. For export, select a ready kernel body, then choose a supported format in Menu → Export. See file and export options.

Those are legacy controls and are hidden from the current public tool rail. Use the public Offset tool for supported sketch profiles or solid faces.
